In a nutshell, you’ll be totally spoiled here – food is amazing, view is amazing, rooms are amazing. World Luxury Resort Winner 2014 for a reason.
What I liked about Samabe Bali is that all villas on the property have an epic view of the endless Indian Ocean from the top of Nusa Dua’s cliffs. Each villa is spacious and completely private with it’s own infinity pool, and the grounds themselves are incredibly lush and beautifully maintained. There’s a very IG friendly lily pad pond right in the front entrance. Monkeys wander around the property, and it was fairly common to see one wandering along the railing between the main pool and the sea.
I also loved how well the details were considered here as well. The Bose surround sound system is powerful and worked seamlessly. The amenity kit included high quality products with thoughtful additions like natural lemongrass bug spray, facial mist, and epsom salts. Welcome treats included a honeydew beverage, two types of natural tea, two jars of homemade cookies, and mangostines with how-to instructions.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue, this could be a good spot for you – there’s about 2 or 3 places on this property (that I saw) which would make a gorgeous wedding spot, including the Pear Chapel, which is an epic all-glass structure poised on the very edge of the cliff with a 180 degree view of the sea. It was truly breathtaking. The food is also very good here, nicely presented and incorporates a lot of local and ‘unique-to-guest’ ingredients. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve ever been to, and covers the full range of desires from cold-pressed juice shots to luxury donuts.
Things to note: I didn’t have the chance to try this but Samabe offers a cave dining experience that looks really cool. Also, keep your goods inside the villa as much as possible – the monkeys will take anything they can get their hands on!
Worth it?
100%.
